Scalar and Tensor Glueballs on Asymmetric Coarse Lattices
نویسنده
چکیده
Scalar and tensor glueball spectrum is studied using an improved gluonic action on asymmetric lattices in the pure SU(3) gauge theory. The smallest spatial lattice spacing is about 0.08fm which makes the extrapolation to the continuum limit more reliable. In particular, attention is paid to the scalar glueball mass which is known to have problems in the extrapolation. Converting our lattice results to physical units using the scale set by the static quark potential, we obtain the following results for the glueball masses: MG(0 ) = 1730(90)MeV for the scalar glueball mass and MG(2 ) = 2400(95)MeV for the tensor glueball.

Tuning the Tadpole Improved Clover Wilson Action on Coarse Anisotropic Lattices
It has become clear that anisotropic, coarse lattices and improved lattice actions are the ideal candidates for lattice QCD calculations on small computers [1–4]. They are particularly advantageous for heavy objects like the glueballs, one meson states with nonzero three momenta and multi-meson states with or without three momenta. The gauge action employed is the tadpole improved gluonic actio...

Standard Monte Carlo simulations have been performed on improved lattices to determine the wave functions and the sizes of the scalar and tensor glueballs at four lattice spacings in the range a = 0.05 − 0.145 fm. Systematic errors introduced by the discretization and the finite volume are studied. Our results in the continuum limit show that the tensor glueball is approximately two times as la...
متن کاملCoarse lattice results for glueballs and hybrids
Glueballs and hybrid mesons are both coloursinglet bound states containing excitations of gluonic degrees of freedom and so are absent in the quark model, but expected in QCD. These gluonic excitations are a highly non-perturbative aspect of the theory and so making reliable predictions requires robust methods. Unambiguous experimental identification of these states has proven to be difficult. ...

A new parametrization is introduced for the fixed point (FP) action in SU(3) gauge theory using fat links. We investigate its scaling properties by means of the static quark-antiquark potential and the dimensionless quantities r0Tc, Tc/ √ σ and r0 √ σ, where Tc is the critical temperature of the deconfining phase transition, r0 is the hadronic scale and σ is the effective string tension. These ...
متن کاملIn search of a scaling scalar glueball
Efficient studies of the QCD glueball spectrum are made possible on coarse spatial lattices, provided the temporal discretisation is finer. This permits sufficient measurements of the glueball correlator before statistical fluctuations dominate [1]. These studies found good scaling for the 2 and 1+− glueballs. However for the lightest, scalar state, the mass (in units of r0) was seen to fall ra...
